Connect M-Pesa, configure taxes and fees, and accept bank transfers.
1 Connecting M-Pesa
VibePass is built around M-Pesa as the primary payment method for the Kenyan market — buyers pay via STK push directly from their phone, no card or app download required.
Setting up your payout
- From Account → Payments, select M-Pesa.
- Enter your Till Number, Paybill, or personal M-Pesa number to receive payouts.
- Verify the number with the test transaction sent to confirm details are correct.
How buyers pay
At checkout, buyers enter their M-Pesa number and receive an STK push prompt on their phone to confirm payment with their PIN. Orders update to "Paid" automatically once Safaricom confirms the transaction, typically within seconds.

Exact payout timing (instant vs. scheduled batch) and any minimum payout threshold should be confirmed against your live Daraja API integration before stating specifics to customers.
2 Bank Transfer Payments
For corporate buyers, group bookings, or attendees without M-Pesa access, accept direct bank transfer as a payment method alongside M-Pesa.
- From Account → Payments, enable Bank Transfer and add your account details.
- At checkout, buyers select bank transfer and receive your account details plus a unique reference number to include.
- Orders are marked Pending until you manually confirm receipt and mark the order as paid from the Orders tab.
Tip
Reconcile bank transfer orders regularly — unlike M-Pesa, these require manual confirmation since there's no automatic payment webhook from most Kenyan banks.
3 Taxes & Fees
Configure how VibePass's service fee, and any taxes (e.g. VAT), are calculated and displayed at checkout.
Fee responsibility
- Pass fees to buyer — buyer pays ticket price plus the VibePass service fee on top; you receive the full ticket price
- Absorb the fee — you receive ticket price minus the fee; buyer sees one clean price
Custom taxes & fees
Add your own taxes or surcharges (e.g. venue levy, VAT where applicable) from Account → Taxes & Fees, choosing whether they're a fixed amount or percentage, and whether they're included in the displayed price or added at checkout.
